Disk Space - at least 50Megabytes for the initial installation is required.

Note - Trying to install the Java 2 SDK on a non-supported version of Microsoft Windows or on a machine that doesn't have a sufficiently up-to-date Service Pack will cause the installer to generate this warning: "We recommend that you do not install this Java Platform for the following reasons: This Java Platform does not support the operating system or operating-system service pack on this machine."

A proxy Server is server between a client application, such as a internet application, and a real server. It intercepts all requests to the real server to see if it can fulfil the requests itself. If
not, it forwards the request to the real server. Proxy servers have two main purposes: improve performance and filter requests.
If you have a Proxy Server, you will be required to enter the address of the proxy server during the installation process. If you are unsure of the answer, please contact your local IT consultant.
